A tour of the spice plantations of Kerala, see the backwaters and cruise on a kettuvallam or riceboat, view the spectacular tea gardens in the hills and much more.

Day 1:  Arrival at Calicut
Transfer to your hotel.  After the afternoon’s sightseeing, enjoy a performance of Kalaripayattu, the martial art of Kerala in a local theatre.
Day 2: Calicut – Tellicherry (80km)
The morning’s drive takes you to Tellicherry, to stay at Ayesha Manzil; a century-old heritage home overlooking the beach.

Day 3: Tellicherry – Wayanad (120km)
After breakfast you travel to the mist clad mountains and sylvan valleys of Wayanad for a memorable stay at the Tree House in the midst of 500 acres of tropical rain forest.

Day 4: Wayanad – Guruvayoor (200km)
Leave after breakfast for the historic Sree Krishna temple.  Visit Punnathoor kotta, where elephants are looked after.

Day 5: Guruvayoor – Kochi (110km)
The morning drive to Kochi ensures enough time to tour the town’s many sights in the afternoon.  A Kathakali dance performed in a local theatre is held in the evening.

Day 6: Kochi – Munnar (135km)
An early morning drive brings you to the scenic hill station of Munnar. Then take a safari into Eravikulam National Park; and a visit to a tea factory.

Day 7: Munnar – Periyar (120km)
Drive to South India’s most popular wildlife sanctuary that sprawls around the man-made Periyar Lake.  The evening’s boat cruise allows you close views of wildlife at the water’s edge.

Day 8: Periyar – Kumarakom (125km)
After breakfast visit a spice plantation and then proceed to Kumarakom.  Lunch is at Kanjirappally Plantation Bungalow, which is a Syrian Catholic Heritage Home.

Day 9: Kumarakom
Full day at leisure at Kumarakom; suggest a relaxing ayurvedic massage.

Day 10: Kumarakom – House Boat
At mid-day, go on an overnight cruise on a traditional rice boat or Kettuvallam, along the backwaters and canals.

Day 11: Alleppey – Kovalam (170km)
Disembark at Alleppey at 10am and drive on to Kovalam a beach resort in the south.

Day 12: Kovalam
Day out on the beach enjoying the sunshine.

Day 13: Departure from Thiruvananthapuram
Transfer to the Airport in time for your connecting flight.
