KATHMANDU – CHITWAN NATIONAL PARK – POKHRA
Nepal is famous for its unparallel natural beauty with the great Himalayas running across its northern and western part. Eight of the ten highest mountain peaks including Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world are here. But, Nepal is not just about mountain peaks, but also offers some of the best wildlife, magnificent landscape and diverse cultures. Visit Kathmandu, which has not only served as the political Capital but also as Nepal’s cultural metropolis since Nepal’s unification in 18th century. Next, you explore the Chitwan National Park which is considered to be Asia’s most well-preserved conservation area. Also visit Pokhra, known for splendid Annapurna rage of mountains in its backdrop and serene lakes of Phewa, Rupa and Begnas.
The landlocked country, Nepal is a Birthplace of the Buddha, home of the Gurkhas, roof of the world, land of legend and beauty. Within its intricate lanes, Nepal contains an absolutely remarkable diversity of cultures and landscapes.

Day 1  Kathmandu

Arrive at Kathmandu airport and transfer to the hotel.
Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal. Kathmandu is in the shape of Khukuri knife and has two thousand years old outstanding history. The city houses numerous tourist attractions that are worth exploring. The city itself is home to the historic monuments, cultural groups, architectural miracles and interesting tourist destinations.

Day 2  Kathmandu

Morning city tour of Kathmandu.
Take a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu with a visit to Durbar Square, which was a royal Nepalese residence until the 19th century. The palace is also known as the Hanuman Dhoka Palace Complex. The square is surrounded by wonderful architecture displaying the skills of Newar craftsman. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Kumari Chowk is a house of the living goddess. The Kumari is a young girl who is the reincarnation of Taleju. She was discovered when she was about four years old after passing many tests. She did not show fear from the severed head of a water buffalo; she had to select items that belonged to the last incarnation of the Kumari from many objects; and many more.
Swayambhunath is an ancient religious complex that is perched high in the Kathmandu valley. It is also known as the monkey temple and is an important Buddhist pilgrimage site. The complex encompasses a stupa, temples and shrines and provides a spectacular view of Kathmandu valley.
Pashupatinath Temple is the oldest Hindu shrine and therefore the most sacred place of Hindu religion. The temple is dedicated to Lord Pashupatinath. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Boudhnath Stupa which is the largest stupa in Asia. The stupa is located on the eastern outskirts of Kathmandu, built in the 14th century after the Mughals invaded the city. It is considered to be the holiest Buddhist Temple outside Tibet.

Day 3  Kathmandu

In the morning visit Bhaktapur.
Bhaktapur also known as Bhadgaon is the best preserved city of the country. Bhadgaon means the City of Devotees and houses three major squares full of lofty temples that display some of the finest sacred architecture in the entire country.Thin cobbled stone paths take you through the red-brick houses, connecting to the series of squares and courtyards that are dotted with temples, statues, and wells. You can stroll around this place leisurely.
In the afternoon we shall visit Patan that is located in the suburb of Kathmandu, detached only by the misty Baghmati River. A visit to Patan is remarkable because it has the best collection of temples and palaces. It comprises of the Royal Palace which encompass a lavishly ornamented bathtub.

Day 4  Kathmandu – Chitwan  (185 KM – 6 Hours )

In the morning leave for Chitwan.
Chitwan National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a rich natural area in the Terai, the subtropical southern part of Nepal. A total of 68 species of mammals, 544 species of birds, 56 species of herpetofauna and 126 species of fish have been recorded in the park. The park is especially renowned for its protection of one horned Rhinoceros, Royal Bengal Tigers and Gharial Crocodiles.
On arrival check in at resort for overnight stay.

Day 5  Chitwan

Full day is for jungle excursion of Chitwan National Park.
It boasts of a huge range of flora and fauna – wilderness that can be discovered in the lands of Chitwan National Park. It is acknowledged as the finest National parks in Asia. The topography of forest with thick grasslands and plenty of water makes it a perfect environment for the wildlife to survive.
Enjoy elephant safari in the lush green jungles of Chitwan.
You will be guided by a Naturalist who will assist in identifying the nature of wildlife and various plants and animals. You can also enjoy the Native Tharu Folk dance and stick dance in the evening.

Day 6  Chitwan – Pokhara  (160 KM – 5 Hours)

In the morning leave for Pokhara.
Pokhara’s astonishing beauty has been the subject of many travel writers. Its pristine air, spectacular backdrop of snowy peaks, serene lakes and surrounding greenery make it ‘the jewel in the Himalaya’, a place of remarkable natural beauty. With the magnificent Annapurna range forming the backdrop and the serenity of three major lakes – Phewa, Rupa and Begnas – is the ultimate destination for relaxation.
Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 7  Pokhara

Morning excursion to Sarangkot.
Sarangkot is a small village offering delightful view of the Annapurna Mountain Range. The village is visited mostly during dawn and dusk, to view the sun changings its hues from purple pink to celestial gold.
In the afternoon visit Bindebasini Temple. Perched high on a hill, it is an important temple in Pokhara region. The white Pagoda style building is dedicated to Goddess Durga.
Also Visit Gupteshwar Cave, a shrine dedicated to lord Shiva. Surrounded by dense forest of sal trees and flanked by Kolab River, the cave offers a delightful view of the surroundings. Gupteswar cave is famous for its underground water and the view of Davis fall from the farthest end of the cave.
In the evening, enjoy boating on the Lake Fewa as an optional tour.
Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 8  Pokhara – Kathmandu  (210 KM, 6 Hours)

Morning departure for Kathmandu. Arrive and check in at hotel.
Rest of the day is free for independent activities or shopping.
Overnight stay.

Day 9  Kathmandu

Transfer to the airport to board the flight for your onward destination.
